Private Lives! Private Lives! Private Lives!
This comedy was written by Noel Coward in 1930. Coward, who also starred in the first production along side Gertrude Lawrence and Laurence Olivier, wrote the play specifically with Lawrence in mind. The play was conceived on a trip around the world, and completed in only 5 days, while Coward was convalescing in Shanghai after a bout with influenza. It was Coward's most enduringly successful work and is generally regarded as the high point of his career both commercially and artistically.

Elyot and Sibyl were married in a big church ceremony. Amanda and Victor were married b a French Justice of the Peasce. Both couples go to a hotel on the same day and are put in adjoining rooms with adjoining terraces on their honeymoon. They meet by chance but the old spark is re-ignited and the impulsively elope. After days of being reunited, they again find their fiery romance alternating between the passions of love and anger. Their aggrieved spouses appear and a dizzying display of affiliations alternate between the women sticking together, then apart and new partnerships being formed.

WHO WILL END UP WITH WHOM?
