Open call* time

7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

*Due to our location change for auditions, Monday and Tuesday night auditions will be run as an “open call” audition, with last call at 9:30 pm. Auditionees may arrive any time between 6:45 pm and 9:30 pm to register (auditionees who arrive after 9:30 pm may not be able to be seen that night). Small groups will be called into the audition room based on arrival time. Once each small group has been seen, they will be released for the evening and auditionees will only need to return on Wednesday night for callbacks if they are contacted and asked to do so.

What to prepare for Open Call

Please bring a completed Audition Form with a complete list of your scheduling conflicts. Forms will be available at registration if you are unable to fill them out beforehand.

Singing Portion:

Each auditionee should prepare a 16-32 bar (30-60 second) cut from a song in a musical theater style. Please do not prepare a cut from any song from Something Rotten! Please bring either a track recording to sing along with. There will be a speaker with Bluetooth and aux plug-in for your use.

Movement/Dancing Portion:

Please wear shoes that are comfortable to move in. Please see the bottom of the page for the Director/Choreographer’s note on dance and tap requirements for this production.*

No preparation is required. Actors will be given acting sides at registration and will have time to prepare before reading.

What to expect when you register

Each auditionee will fill out the necessary paperwork and be given an audition number. A picture will be taken for your audition form and you will be given a packet with acting sides. You will then be sent to a private area for a brief moment to have your general costume measurements taken. You will then take a seat and may review the acting sides while you wait for your group to be called.

What to expect when your group is called into the audition room

Upon entering the room, the group will meet the production staff. Auditionees will take turns singing their prepared song first. Then the group will be taught a very short movement combination. Finally, actors will be asked to read from given acting sides. Once the group has been dismissed, members of the group are free to leave and only need to return for Wednesday callbacks if they are contacted.

*Note for dance and tap dance requirements for this show from Sarah Stiner, Director/Choreographer:

"I am so excited about the dancing in this production! For any auditionees who are concerned about the amount of technical dance involved, fear not!! My main job as a choreographer is to make you all look great and feel comfortable on stage. The show will be choreographed to the cast members' abilities and skills, not to a preconceived vision. For the tap numbers specifically, we will have workshops during the rehearsal process where everyone will have fun learning something new, so do not worry if you have no prior tap experience. I’m so excited for everyone to learn a new skill during this process! Can’t wait to see you at the auditions" –Sarah
