Auditioners only need to come to 1 night of auditions, but should expect to be present the entire time. Please bring a completed Audition Form or be prepared to fill one out at auditions. Be ready to list any rehearsal conflicts you may have. Refer to the Important Dates list for reference. There will be a music, monologue, and dance portion at auditions. If you have any questions about auditions, please call or text Director Sarah Noah at 989-482-1934 or Producer Kristin Holbrook at 269-274-7281.

*All auditionees 18 and over must provide additional information and pass a background check to participate in this production.

For Auditions:

Music - Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song of your choice that best represents your musical abilities. We will have a bluetooth speaker available and encourage all auditioners to sing with a backing track. Auditioners without a backing track should bring piano music for accompaniment. Anyone who sings acapella will be asked to sing scales with the Music Director before the end of the audition.

Monologue - You will be asked to read a short monologue. You can pick any monologue you would like - keep in mind this is a comedy, so comedic monologues will display what we’re looking for more than drama. If you prefer, you can choose one of the provided monologues. We encourage you to choose what you are most comfortable with. Monologues do not need to be memorized. If you walk in without a monologue prepared, we will still ask you to read one as part of the audition. Refer to the Character List for a list of roles in the show.

Dance - Auditioners will learn a short dance combo. At the end of each night, those with tap dance experience or interest will learn a short tap combo, while others will be released.

Wear comfortable clothes and appropriate shoes (e.g., tennis shoes, jazz shoes; avoid sandals/crocs). Bring tap shoes if you have them.
